Eminem made history on this day twenty years ago.
On May 23, 2000, the rapper born Marshall Mathers released “The Marshall Mathers EP.” It was his third studio album — and would go on to become his most successful.
In the first week alone, the album — which was executive produced by Dr. Dre — sold nearly 2 million copies. It would go on to become the fastest-selling studio album in history, a title it held until Adele’s 2015 album “25” smashed the record.
“The Marshall Mathers EP” is the most successful rap album of all time. It’s a certified Diamond album in the United States and multiplatinum all over the rest of the world. And it was nominated for two Grammys and won the Best Rap Album Grammy.
Yet, despite Eminem’s worldwide success, the real superstar of the Mathers family is his daughter, Hailie.
Eminem Said That Hailie Was His Greatest Accomplishment
At the time “The Marshall Mathers EP” was released, Eminem’s daughter Hailie was a young baby. Her father, who was only 27 at the time, was in a volatile relationship with her mother, Kim, and they would ultimately divorce a year later.
But despite his wild reputation and reckless mouth, Eminem is known as a great father to his children.
In a recent interview, Em revealed that raising Hailie right was his biggest accomplishment.
Hailie is 23, no babies, she has a boyfriend, but she’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure: she’s graduated from college. It’s important to keep your kids grounded when they’re in a situation like I have. It’s very important. So when I think about my accomplishments, that’s what I’m most proud of: being able to raise my kids.

24-year-old Hailie Mathers may be the daughter of Eminem, but she’s not a spoiled celebrity child.
The Michigan native, who’s currently quarantined with her father, has more than 2 million followers on her Instagram, where she shares exclusive insight about life with her dad in addition to travel photos, fitness tips, and even cute dog pics. (She loves Shiba Inu dogs!)
In a world where Lindsay Lohan is stumbling around drunk, where Miley Cyrus changes boyfriends like people change their socks, and where the Kardashians exist, Hailie Mathers is a breath of fresh air.
And whether you like Eminem’s music or not, you can’t help but congratulate him on a job well done.
