Elon Musk Unveils Two New Tiers of X Premium Subscription

In parallel to the subscription plan announcement, X is taking measures to combat manipulation, spam, and bot activity on its platform.

Elon Musk, the CEO of various innovative companies and owner of social media platform X (formerly Twitter) recently confirmed the introduction of two new premium subscription plans for X.

New Premium Subscription Options on X

X Premium, the current subscription service for X, offers a range of exclusive features for $8 per month. These features include custom emojis, extra character limits for posts, and priority customer support. Musk’s announcement of two additional subscription plans demonstrates his commitment to expanding and enhancing the offerings for X users, ensuring a more personalized and enjoyable experience for everyone.

One of the new subscription plans is set to be more budget-friendly, offering a cost-effective alternative to the existing X Premium subscription. While the exact pricing has not been revealed, Musk’s statement suggests that it will be available at a lower cost.

Despite being more affordable, this subscription tier will include all the premium features provided in the existing X Premium plan. This means users can enjoy perks like exclusive emojis and priority customer support without breaking the bank. It’s a smart move on Musk’s part, as it opens up premium features to a wider audience.

The second new subscription tier is set to disrupt the social media landscape even further. Musk highlights that it will be slightly more expensive than the existing X Premium subscription but comes with an ad-free experience.

Users who opt for this premium plan will no longer have to contend with ads cluttering their timelines and interrupting their scrolling. This move will likely be a significant draw for many users who find ads disruptive to their social media experience.

X’s “Not A Bot” Program

In parallel to the subscription plan announcement, X is taking measures to combat manipulation, spam, and bot activity on its platform. The “Not a Bot” program is being launched in select countries, including New Zealand and the Philippines.

This program will charge a nominal annual fee of $1 to new unverified users, ensuring that X remains a platform for authentic human interaction. This move aligns with X’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and trustworthiness of its user base.

Meanwhile, X’s “Not A Bot” program’s annual subscription fee of $1 is a far cry from the pricing structure of Twitter Blue, a premium subscription service available on X. In India, Twitter Blue costs 900 rupees per month for both Android and iOS devices, with web access available at 650 rupees per month. Users can also opt for an annual subscription, priced at 6,800 rupees for web access.

X’s “Not A Bot” program strikes a balance between accessibility and security. By keeping the subscription fee minimal, the platform ensures that legitimate users can engage without any hindrance while deterring those who seek to exploit the platform for malicious purposes.
