Former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman together with some of his colleagues will join Microsoft to lead its AI research team.
Just a couple of days ago Sam Altman made headlines as it was revealed that he was leaving OpenAI. And now Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has made an exciting announcement related to the future career of Altman. Ex-CEO of OpenAI together with some of his colleagues, including the former president of OpenAI Greg Brockman, will join Microsoft to lead its AI research team.
We remain committed to our partnership with OpenAI and have confidence in our product roadmap, our ability to continue to innovate with everything we announced at Microsoft Ignite, and in continuing to support our customers and partners. We look forward to getting to know Emmett…

Let us remind you that some people (and Brockman was among them) made a decision to leave OpenAI after the company abruptly fired Altman.
Microsoft is not on the board of OpenAI. However, the tech giant owns around 50% of the startup. Though the changes that happened at OpenAI may seem to be rather confusing, Nadella assured that Microsoft will stay committed to the startup.
It’s a breaking story and we are working on sharing more details. To be continued.
