On July 19, Fortune’s “40 under 40” list was officially released ranking 40 of the most influential business leaders on the globe. Although not surprising, the list of young influential people in crypto who were listed this year was longer than in last year.
For this year, apart from assessing the financial muscles of these individuals, Fortune also considered the influence and other notable successes that the young people under the age of 40 years have in the world.
The list of 5 influential people in crypto who were listed by Fortune was kicked off by Brian Armstrong who is the CEO of Coinbase and who occupied the 20th slot. This is a major drop from last years ratings where he was ranked 10th. Armstrong is one slot higher that musician and songwriter, Rihana.
The second slot was occupied by Ethereum’s creator, Vitalik Buterin, moving two slots lower from last years rankings. Vitalik is aged 24 years and Fortune described him as “a skinny visionary, whose experiment has become the second-most valuable invention after bitcoin.” As noted by Cointelegraph.
On the third place for influential people in crypto who were listed in Fortune’s ‘40 under 40’, is Baiji Bhatt and Vlad Tenev, who are aged 33 and 31 years respectively. The two are co-CEOs of Robinhood, a cryptocurrency trading app that has no trading fees. The two shared the 24th place on the Fortune’s list.
The list of five influential people in crypto who were listed on Fortune’s “40 under 40” was closed by Panel Durov who is the co-founder and CEO of Telegram and who occupied the 25th slot on the Fortune’s list of young business disruptors under the age of 40. Durov is 33 years old.
Do you think next year’s list will include more people in the cryptocurrency space?
